✨ Birth Story Shared by Nisha Gupta ✨
It was 1:00 in the morning when my waters began to leak, and suddenly everything changed. We rushed to the hospital carrying a mix of fear, excitement, nervousness, and emotions I can hardly describe. The moment I had been waiting for was finally here — I was about to meet my baby.
At the hospital, the doctor decided to induce labor as an emergency precaution. Around 2:30 a.m., my contractions began. At first, they were manageable, coming every thirty minutes. But as the hours passed, they became stronger, more frequent, and far more intense.
By morning, I was only 2 cm dilated. I continued moving, sitting on the birthing ball, changing positions, and doing everything I could to help my body through labor. Around 11:00 a.m., I finally reached 4 cm, but soon after, the contractions became almost nonstop. The pain was overwhelming, and my whole body started shivering.
Through every contraction, my husband stood beside me like a rock. He didn’t leave my side for a single moment. He stayed with me through every tear, every wave of pain, and every moment I felt like giving up.
Around 1:00 p.m., after nearly 12 hours of labor, I was still only 4 cm dilated. I was exhausted physically and emotionally, and that’s when I decided to take an emergency epidural. My husband fully supported me because he had seen how hard I had fought already.
By 2:00 p.m., the epidural finally gave my body some relief, and for the first time in hours, I was able to rest. Thankfully, my baby remained stable throughout everything, and his heartbeat stayed strong.
At 6:00 p.m., I was finally fully dilated and ready to push. But after such a long labor, my body was completely exhausted. I tried with all the strength I had left while my husband, midwives, and doctors encouraged me constantly.
Then suddenly, my baby’s heartbeat started to drop.
My gynecologist quickly decided on a Kiwi vacuum-assisted delivery, and within minutes, our baby arrived safely into the world.
The moment we heard his first cry, both my husband and I burst into tears. Seeing our baby for the first time after hours of pain, fear, strength, and hope was the most emotional and unforgettable moment of our lives.
After all the waiting and struggle, our baby was finally in our arms.
And every single moment was worth it. 🤍
